7 Ways to Find People You Lost Touch With

1. Google – Simply search whatever information you have about the person you are looking for on a search engine such as Google or Yahoo.

2. Social Networks – Social networking sites such as MySpace, Facebook, YouTube and even Renunion.com are extremely popular and dominate the web these days. If you ask anyone online, they most likely have an account on at least 1 social network. So search the popular social networks and do some digging around because whoever you are looking for is a friend of a friend of a friend…

3. People Search Directory – Lookup a person using a people search directory or person report service. There is a small fee to use people search directories and they are the first places private investigators use when researching someone since many of these services come with detailed people reports including background checks and criminal history.

4. Reverse Phone Directory – If you have the phone number of a person you looking for and would like to identify the owner of a phone number, you would want to use a reverse phone directory. You can get many landline and business reverse phone records for free since most are public information but you will need to pay a fee if you need to identify unpublished phone numbers or need to reverse search cell phone numbers.

5. Reverse Email Search – Need to find the real name or owner of an email address? There are reverse email search directories out there that pull from large databases however there are more unknown emails without reverse email records. Reverse email search directories will charge a small fee. You have a better chance of finding out who owns and email address if that person has been using that same email address for many things over a period of time. You can also perform a whois domain name search to see who has registered and owns the email domain name.

6. Private Investigator – Hiring you own private investigator can be costly and is a last chance resort. There are many private investigation services and private investigators with a variety of skills and specialties. When looking for a private investigator be sure let them know exactly what or who you are looking and ask the P.I. how they will solve your case or conduct their research.

7. Missed Connections - If you have a name, location, or personality you can describe in such a manner someone might recognize that person, then you have a chance someone knows the person you are looking for. You can post such missed connections on local and nationwide classifieds and websites like Craigslist.

So there you have it, my list of 7 ways to find people you have lost touch with. Most of those people search solutions are to find people online. Please let me know if you have any tips to finding lost people or help with finding people online.
