Employee background Checks
Checking a potential employee’s criminal record is a tool that more and more employers are using today as a way to ensure the highest levels of ethics in the workplace. Criminal records can help a specific industry locate the personnel they are needing to attract. For example, a medical setting with access to pharmaceuticals needs to be able to research a potential employee for past drug offenses. A criminal record check is most often required on jobs that have a high level of trust required or access to sensitive materials. These checks are often used by employers as a means of objectively evaluating a job candidate’s qualifications and to identify potential hiring risks. There are several types of criminal record searches available to employers, some more accurate and up to date than others. Many websites offer the “instant” background check, which will search a compilation of databases containing public information for a fee. There are also other database-type criminal searches, such as statewide repositories and the national crime file. A commonly used criminal search by employers who outsource is the county criminal search.
While there are many bonuses to prescreening potential employees there also can be some drawbacks. Some states have official “statewide repositories” that contain criminal history information contributed by the various county and municipal courts within the state. These state repositories are usually accurate so long as the state requires and supervises the uploading of data from the local courts. Some states make reporting to the repository voluntary. The information obtained from these repositories can be incomplete and the use of this information has associated risks.
The federal government maintains extensive criminal histories and acts as a central repository for all agencies to report their own data. NCIC (National Crime Information Center) is one such database. Generally, and with a very few exceptions, the records compiled by the federal government are not made available to the private sector. Some private re-sellers claim to offer an NCIC record search. In most cases these claims are fraudulent. Though NCIC records may not be available to private sector companies, they still may hold very accurate criminal records bought from other reporting agencies.

How to Get Employment Background Checks For Potential Employees.
Background checks are an important tool for individuals and employers to securely evaluate the people they enter into business relationships with. These checks can be used in variety of ways as well as a variety of checks can be done depending on the information required. For example, a background check for a family looking for a nanny for their children would have different requirements than a background check for someone looking to establish a military contract from the government. Whereas the family might want to look at past employers and possibly even social networking sites such as Myspace or Facebook, the military contract would be a far more extensive background search with credit checks and extensive background information.
Background checks need to comply by some federal regulations. The federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) sets the regulations to keep a balance between the rights of the companies conducting the research and the consumers that need to be protected. The regulations of the FCRA do only apply to background searches that are performed by outside agencies. Background checks that are performed in house by the company requesting the check are not subject to the regulations of the FCRA. Examples of the things the FCRA prohibits reporting are collection accounts that are over seven years old and bankruptcies over ten years.
If you know that you are soon to be the focus of a background check there are many steps a person can take to make sure there are no surprises on the back end. One suggestion is to do a background check on yourself to see what information can be found. There are many sites available online that provide background checks for a small fee. Another way to prepare to be subject to a background check is to pull your own credit reports. The three major credit reporting agencies are Experian, TransUnion and Equifax. All three of these companies can provide you a copy of your credit report for a small fee.
Background checks are a fact of life in the new workplace and become a more common prerequisite to employment everyday. With some information ahead of time it can be another way to set yourself apart in your employer’s eyes.

I am a bakery store owner in Dallas. We provide fresh oven bakeries, cakes and biscuits. And we are in operation since 1995. Who could have imagined a criminal activity in a bakery shop? I know it might sound a bit weird or like an intelligent criminal plan. However, I am going to unleash a very unfortunate incident.
One of our employees was wanted of murder and burglary. Although his general behavior and interaction never revealed that he might be a criminal personality. In the summer of 1999 he was arrested from my shop and I was summoned to the court for employing a wanted murder. I was fined a handsome amount, for a small business like mine. The court ordered the fine on the grounds of negligence on screening and verifying the details of an employee with police or any such authorized agency. I learned my lesson after that and ensured background check for all employees who have been part of my business till date. This has enabled me in selecting the best talent and dedicated employees over the years. I must acknowledge that it has helped me in scrutinizing the falsified resumes and susceptible potential employees.
As a business you should not be negligent by not performing background checks on your employees. This could turn out to be fatal for your bottom-line. Nobody would like to be associated with criminals. Therefore act smart and hire a background agency which can manage screening on your behalf. You can also explore Internet and free people search engine which can enable you to find more about the history and criminal proceedings if any about the individual. So whether you are a SME or large size enterprise, background checks are a must in these testing times of growing unemployment, political unrest and increasing worldwide terrorism.

Most parents drive their children around everywhere they go. Has your child ever told you to ‘just drop them off here?’ Most parents assume that their kids are too cool to be dropped off at the front door, or to be seen with their parents. It’s one of those things we roll our eyes at and get over. However, what if your child is visiting somewhere he shouldn’t be visiting. You just never know what kind of people your child can end up hanging around with. Next time you are asked to drop your child off in front of a house rather than walking him or her in, or next time your child wants you to drop him or her off down the block with no explanation, you may want to take note of the address. Here’s why.
Your child could be visiting someone very dangerous or be placing himself in a terrible situation. You don’t want to invade your child’s privacy, however you don’t want your child to become injured or hurt. As a good parent, you have to make sure that your child is safe and that you are doing all that you can in order to ensure that. If you would like to do this without making your child hate you, do it secretly! You can visit www.centelus.com and place an address or a phone number in the text box. You will instantly receive reports about who owns the house or the phone and what kind of person they are.
In fact, you can find out if they have ever been charged of a felony or a misdemeanor, you can have access to their criminal and civil court records and much more. You will instantly be able to tell whether your child is in danger or not from the people who live here. Your child will never know that you have checked, and neither will the people that you search for. Many times, parents have no idea how to check and make sure that their children are safe. This is one resource that watchful parents just can’t live without.
If you have questions about where your child is going or who they are calling, all you need is the address or the phone number. All you have to do is type in either one and you don’t have to know the name of the people who you are searching for. You can find out if they have ever been charged with a crime, you can see their marriage and death certificates and you can find out if they are a danger to your child. In this day and age, we can’t afford to assume that our children are safe – we simply have to make sure. Utilize the tips and advice above along with this site or another site that allows you to search in this way, so that you can rest assured that your child is safe.

Before you file for a divorce or get too deeply involved in the filing process, you’ll need to find a divorce lawyer who’ll do the best job of protecting you and your interests. Odds are that there are quite a few divorce lawyers in your area, so you’ll have to evaluate some of them before you can decide which one is right to represent you. As expected, there are a few things you’ll want to look for when comparing divorce lawyers.
Initially, you’ll want the lawyers you’re considering to have expertise in the area of family and divorce laws. If you have a complex financial situation which may require special proficiencies, you’ll want to know your divorce lawyer can provide the help you need. Be certain you ask each attorney about their particular experience handling situations such as yours, including how many similar cases they’ve represented in the past.
Even if you don’t have a need for a specialized divorce lawyer, you should still establish the level of experience the divorce lawyers you talk to have. Take into account that an attorney who’s fresh out of law school may not have adequate knowledge or experience to effectively represent you in the same way divorce lawyers who’ve been practicing for years can. Remember to confirm that the lawyer you choose does not have a recent or past affiliation with your soon to be ex-spouse because it will be a conflict of interest.
As a final point, evaluate the fees required by each divorce lawyer you’re considering to represent you. Do not automatically choose the cheapest, but find the one with the most skill and education for the money. It only makes sense that a divorce lawyer with 20 years of experience will command higher fees than someone who just passed the Bar exam. You’ll also want to hire an attorney who is responsive and easy to get in touch with, as well as one you can feel comfortable working closely with.

There are many times when a woman will find something that her husband left lying around that will make her start to wonder if he is cheating or not. Often times, it can be honestly explained and turns out to be nothing. However, there are also many times when it really is something, and the husband thinks the wife is too naive to find out what is happening. If you have found something that really makes you wonder if something is happening behind your back, there are a few questions that you can ask yourself. By doing this, you can determine if other suspicious activity is going on, and if there are more signs then you can take the appropriate action.
Have you found phone numbers in his pockets? Are there strange phone numbers on his cell phone bill or the home phone bill that you can not explain? If so, then you know that he is talking to someone different. This might not necessarily mean that he is cheating, but if you’ve never found strange phone numbers before now, you should really pay attention to other strange behaviors and attitudes that he is conveying. For example, has he suddenly had to go on more business trips out of town? Sometimes when men lie, they blame their absence on work. Either he will say he has to work late, or that he has a business trip. In some cases, the men who tell you these things are telling the truth, but other times he is using excuses like this to meet his paramour.
Has his appearance suddenly become important to him? If he has suddenly started purchasing new clothes, dressing nicely, and styling his hair, there may be something going on. Often, men will buy a new cologne or clothing to look nice for their secret ‘friend.’ Pay attention to the way he dresses. If he has looked the same and worn the same type of thing for years, but now he is suddenly dressing differently, there may be something going on.
Check the odometer on the car. If your husband normally drives 10 miles to work and then the other 10 miles back, then there should only be an extra 20 or 25 miles on the odometer. If there are more, especially if there are a lot more, casually ask about his day and then where he went. If he replies that he was at work like usual, then you know something is wrong. If he is lying about where he has been, then he’s most likely lying about something else. When you get to the point where you truly feel like he is doing something wrong, it’s time to check some things out.
By entering just a phone number on a certain website, you can receive information about the person who owns that phone number, their name, address, and more. This is helpful for when you find strange numbers in his pocket or strange numbers on the cell phone bill. Gathering information like this is helpful for when you decide to confront him. Don’t let him keep thinking that he can do things like this right under your nose and you will never find out. Find out who’s calling him and who is taking up his time.

When you meet someone that you really fall for, it is hard to think straight. That’s why they say that love is blind. Everyone has met someone that they were really enamored over. That feeling is simply incomparable. You feel like you’re walking on clouds, you are happy, excited and you feel like a kid again. You find yourself smiling stupidly at nothing at all and you are so caught up in the way that you feel and that other person that you wouldn’t know it if the world stopped turning. However, how do you know if that person is really free?
Have they given you their home phone number or is it just a cell phone number that you have? Have you been to their home? Do they ever have to leave suddenly when the two of you are right in the middle of something? If you stop and think about it for a few minutes, does it seem as if they are hiding something from you? This can be something that is pretty hard to take. You don’t want to think of the possibility of this person lying to you or being involved or married already. However, it happens every single day.
If you are unsure, there are a few things you can do to tell whether or not it is alright to continue on or if you need to have caution. Pay attention to the person. Do they act like they have other things to do? Are they always checking the time or do they always have to leave suddenly? If so, they may have lied to their families and have given themselves so much time to spend with you before they have to return to their ‘other lives.’ Have you met his or her family? If they have offered to let you meet their parents, siblings or other family, chances are they are not already involved. If it has been quite a while and they still haven’t offered for you to meet their family, you might want to use a bit of caution.
Another thing you can do is visit a website like www.personreports.org. All you have to do is enter their phone number or their address and you can find out all kinds of useful information. You will find out their home phone number and address if you don’t already have it. You can find their marriage or divorce certificates so that you know if they are married or not. You can find out if they have ever been charged with a crime and much more. This is one great way to ease your mind. If they are not married, perhaps it is just a fear of commitment or something else keeping them from having you over to meet their family. Either way, at least you will know that you’re not contributing to the pain of someone else. If you are in doubt, follow the advice and tips above so that you won’t have to worry and wonder any longer.

The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, all through the town. But who is putting their foot on the pedal to propel the bus through the town? Teachers are the ones who mold children’s minds, educating them and giving them the principals and skills to make it in the world. Teachers should be praised and commended for this but one person who flies under the radar is the bus driver. They drive your children to and from school. They are responsible for the well being and safety of your child once they set foot on that bus. There are plenty of good bus drivers out there but what about the bad ones?
Steve, a bus driver from northern Iowa had an addiction to pain killers and was in and out of rehab numerous times. He even did months of jail time because he was caught stealing in order to get money to pay for his next fix. This was all found out after he drove a bus full of kids into a ditch. He was fired the next day. John, a bus driver in Montana was a convicted sex offender. His records showed he was on the sex offenders list but this was only found out after complaints from certain children who rode his bus. He was fired the next day.
Then there was Patty from New York. She was an alcoholic with a D.U.I on her record. She came to work with booze on her breath, ran a red light, and caused a wreck involving two other cars. She was fired the next day. No children in any of these cases were seriously hurt but they all have the same thing in common. It wasn’t until the driver messed up that a background check was done. It wasn’t until that person’s personal problems put the children in danger that a check seemed necessary. What is the best way to put an end to these types of stories? Stop it before it starts. By doing a simple background check on a possible driver before they are even hired, these kinds of things can be stopped. Click here to do a background check and make sure the wheels on the bus are safe for our children.

Ready to Adopt? Thinking about adoption? That is great! But have you checked out the people you are about to do business with? A recent Montel Williams show focused on the adoption scams happening in our country.
After hearing about adoption scam contracts, he was quoted as saying: “You mean to tell me, that we have a system that’s so unregulated, as to allow people to make contracts like this. If I made a contract with, I don’t know, a person to repair my kitchen, and said, if I didn’t want my kitchen repaired by January 1st, and in the fine print, they said, I got two years to repair your kitchen, I gave them all the money before January 1st to repair my kitchen, and they didn’t do it, I have the grounds to sue them.”

How Was Your Date? Internet dating is now the most popular way for people to meet. Makes sense in a busy world where people don’t have the time to join an endless amount of activities in the hopes of meeting someone. But the one thing these daters need to do is take just a few moments to check out who they are about to have an intimate meeting with! Most online dating services, including the most popular ones, do absolutely no background checks on members of any kind other than making sure of their credit card authorization! Anyone can join, including, convicted murderers, married people, deadbeat parents, burglars, sex offenders, embezzlers, thieves, repetitive drunk drivers, liars, and scam artists, to name a few. The Internet is a playground for many of these perpetrators. When people are lonely, they make mistakes. Janelle Armstrong was surprised when her dinner date was interrupted by a woman crying, ‘How could you,’ with two children calling him ‘daddy!’ After spending six weeks chatting and emailing with a new beau, Lucille Hudson, a young lawyer, was certain she had met the man of her dreams. He was intelligent, cordial, challenging, romantic, and everything she had hoped for. There were no ‘signs.’ He finally agreed to meet her at a local restaurant. When Lucille arrived she was greeted by a group of howling adolescent males. Seems the love of her life was a fifteen year-old boy out for kicks. Her humiliation and embarrassment have lingered and she has not dated for a year since the incident. While these cases are not life threatening, many are not so benign. Kacie Rene Woody, of Conway, Arkansas, met the San Diego, California, man who killed her, on the Internet. Her body, along with the body of David Fuller, was found in a van at a storage garage in Arkansas, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Police suspect that the girl had been sexually assaulted. Take just a few moments and check out your potential Mr. Right or Ms. Right before you meet. Otherwise, you could end up with Mr. or Ms. Very Wrong!
